Curt Schilling, a baseball analyst, got fired from sports channel ESPN because he
posted anti-transgender comments on his Facebook page. To be more precise, he uploaded a picture of a male character wearing a wig and women's clothing. He described the picture with an offensive tone, "Let
him in! To the restroom with your daughter or else you're a narrow minded,
judgmental, unloving, racist bigot who needs to die!!!"
Curt Schilling expressed his opinion on transgender as follows; “A man is a man no matter what they call themselves” and “Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.”
In the past, he commented something that compared Muslims to Nazis. At that time, ESPN got him suspended for the rest of the Major League season.
This time, ESPN took the incident very seriously and dismissed Curt Schilling for his unacceptable conduct.
I think this news is deeply connected to American society because it clearly shows how sensitive the
United States is on transgender matters.
